The Arctis Nova 5X brings wireless gaming, Bluetooth switching, and more than 100 game audio presets together in one headset.
Its 60-hour battery and USB-C fast-charge option are useful for players who want fewer charging interruptions during a busy gaming week.
It suits players who use Xbox alongside a PC, PlayStation, Switch, mobile device, or tablet and want on-headset controls for volume, mute, ChatMix, and wireless switching.
The retractable microphone and compact USB-C dongle add practical flexibility, while buyers should weigh the headset’s specific wireless setup against their own platform and call needs.
The buying factors
Arctis Nova 5X Scorecard
Editorial scores reflect listed features and buyer fit; they are not laboratory measurements or customer ratings.
Platform range
The stated support spans Xbox, PC, PlayStation, Switch, Meta Quest, phones, and tablets, making it a strong fit for multi-device gaming households.
Battery and charging
A 60-hour battery and six hours of use from a 15-minute USB-C fast charge make charging flexibility a clear strength.
Wireless switching
A button tap switches between 2.4GHz gaming and Bluetooth, supporting a move from gameplay to a call or other media.
Game audio presets
More than 100 presets through the companion app offer game-specific audio choices, though their value depends on whether the available tuning suits a player’s preferences.
Microphone flexibility
The microphone retracts fully into the headset, which is handy when it is not needed; that feature alone cannot establish call quality in every setting.
On-headset controls
Dedicated power, mute, volume, ChatMix, and Quick-Switch controls reduce reliance on reaching for a connected device.

Who Should Buy Arctis Nova 5X?
Good fit
Choose the Arctis Nova 5X if you want one wireless gaming headset for Xbox and a mix of other platforms.
Its compact USB-C dongle supports several systems, while Bluetooth switching can help when you want to take a call or listen to media without ending a gaming session.
It is also a sensible fit for players who value long intervals between charges and want game-specific presets to explore through an app.
The on-headset mute, volume, ChatMix, and Quick-Switch controls cover common adjustments without needing to pick up a phone or controller.
Who should skip it
If you make frequent outdoor calls, check that the microphone suits your conditions before choosing; its retractable ClearCast 2.X mic supports 32KHz/16Bit audio.
It may also be a poor fit if you do not want to use an app to access game-specific audio presets, since the preset library is tied to the Arctis Nova 5 Companion App.
Arctis Nova 5X Review: Wireless Flexibility for Multi-Platform Play
Switching between gaming and Bluetooth
The main convenience case is the button-based Quick-Switch between 2.4GHz gaming and Bluetooth.
It is intended to let players take calls or play media while gaming, while notification beeps provide an alert for incoming calls; buyers who rely on uninterrupted focus should consider whether those alerts suit their setup.
Battery life and fast charging
The 60-hour battery rating makes infrequent charging a central part of the appeal, and USB-C fast charging adds a quick top-up option.
Treat the six-hour figure as a short-charge convenience rather than a replacement for planning around your own play schedule and charging access.
Presets, drivers, and microphone
The companion app provides more than 100 game audio presets, while neodymium magnetic drivers are intended to shape the headset’s audio presentation.
The retractable ClearCast microphone supports 32KHz/16Bit audio through a high-bandwidth chipset; those specifications do not by themselves settle how voices will sound in a particular room or call environment.
Controls and platform fit
Power, mute, volume, ChatMix, and Quick-Switch are available on the headset itself, useful for routine adjustments during play.
The USB-C dongle platform list includes Xbox and several other systems, so confirm that your preferred setup matches the supported connection options before buying.
